Julia Segal (17) is a senior at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto. She is a classically trained pianist and a member of the iSing Silicon Valley Girlchoir. Her passion, however, has always been in writing songs. She is the lead singer and songwriter of a Palo Alto-based indie pop band, Reverie (reverie-band-official.com), with whom she performed at various gigs in the Bay Area. She has spent much of her childhood and teenage years tutoring her younger sister. Besides music, she serves as the Co-President for her school's Jewish Student Union. She is looking forward to being able to share her passion and love for music with children around the world.

Lisa Kopelnik (17) is a senior at the Head-Royce school in Oakland, California. She is a classically trained pianist who began playing the piano in first grade, and recently completed the most advanced level of the Certificate of Merit with Honors. Outside of music, her passions include politics, debate, and tennis. She is her school’s K-12 All School Co-President and co-leads her school’s Women’s Affinity Group and the Jewish Student Union. She co-leads the middle school debate program at her school and is a captain of her school’s debate team. She is thrilled and honored to help your children develop a love for music, and to maintain human connection during such a distant time.

Sage Leland (16) is currently a junior at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto. Although primarily a violinist, Sage also has years of experience with piano and viola. Sage has been a member of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra (PACO) since fourth grade, touring internationally in 2018. She is also a member of her school’s honor orchestra, Tri-M honor society, and attended All-State conferences in 2018 and 2020. Outside of music, Sage is passionate about dance as a form of youth empowerment and teaches a virtual Youth Dance Program with the DEA Educational Foundation. At school, Sage is the secretary of the Chinese Culture Club, vice president of KEY Club, and a mentor of the Business Club. Sage is passionate about business management and is beyond excited to expand the QuaranTunes mission through her role as Chief of Staff.

Rohan Bhave (17) is a senior at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto. He is in charge of designing the website. In addition to other volunteering experiences, he has volunteered as a tutor through several programs including the YMCA and Youth Community Service. He has been playing the piano for nine years and enjoys playing other instruments such as the Ukulele for leisure. Some of his other hobbies include photography, videography, and playing sports. He is the Visual Media Commissioner in his school's student government and is the co-chair of the Visual Media committee in a subgroup of YCS called Youth Connectedness Initiative.

Sola Long (18) is a senior at Developing Secondary in Ukiah, California. She has been studying the violin for 8 years with Mary Brown, a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and currently plays with the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra as a first violinist. Working with younger musicians as the president of western ensemble at school, she is dedicated to spread the joy of music to all children. Her hobbies include photography and dance.

Zach (18) is a senior at Henry M. Gunn High School. He plays multiple instruments, including drums, bass, guitar, piano, and vocals. Between the ages of 10 and 14, he represented School of Rock, Palo Alto, as the Houseband drummer. Zach Chang is experienced as a teacher; he is a Spanish and math tutor, and he has volunteered for a month at a private school, teaching music and academics to kids with learning differences. He has also taught as a volunteer at basketball clinics for younger children. Additionally, he was the captain of his Junior Varsity volleyball team during his Sophomore year before he was moved to Varsity mid-season. He is also the Secretary for the Gunn Quantum Physics Club and the president of the Gunn Physics and Astronomy Club. His hobbies include songwriting and basketball.

Roo Joshi is a senior at Mountain View High School who's been involved with music all her life. She plays piano, guitar, and considers herself an amateur singer-songwriter. Most of all, she's thrilled to be part of an organization that's bringing more equity to music.

Hannah Schendel (17) is a senior at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto. She deals with the financial part of the operation. Hannah has experience with volunteering through teaching kids swimming at the YMCA and working for another nonprofit called World Education Fund which aids students trying to get an education in Africa. She has a passion for music and has been playing piano for 12 years and flute for 7 years. She has passed all ten levels of the Certificate of Merit test and is currently enrolled in AP music theory. Additionally, she has won numerous awards for piano and has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. Some of her other hobbies are swimming, water polo, and modeling.

Zoë Farajian (17) is a senior at College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, California. She has been studying choral music for ten years, exploring numerous instruments along her musical journey. She currently serves as the student director and student teacher of her school's award-winning choir program. Outside of choral music, Zoë has been a passionate musical theatre performer since elementary school. She has won numerous awards for her performances at both local and national levels. Most recently, Zoë has begun to study choral composition, expanding upon her passion for indie pop songwriting to create elaborate choral arrangements and original compositions. As someone who gained her music education through public schools, Zoë is an avid advocate for making music education accessible and equitable for all and is immensely grateful for the opportunity to work with QuaranTunes to make this a reality.

Eunice Cho (16) is a junior at Palo Alto High School. She has grown up with a love for music and has been playing the piano and cello and singing throughout her whole life. She has won numerous cello competitions and has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. She was the principal cellist in her school orchestra and attended the California all-state conference in 2019. Eunice is very passionate about volunteering, and she teaches students with special needs how to play the cello and sing at the Academy of Music and Art for Special Education. She has also taken part in various mission trips and programs to help close the achievement gap and provide families with the resources they need.

Ajin, 16, is a sophomore at Palo Alto High School. She started playing the violin at the age of 9 and has been studying the violin for the past 6 years with her teacher Davis Law. Ajin has played in school orchestras and the Golden State Youth Orchestra (GSYO) for 4 years and was also a part of the California Orchestra Directors Association (CODA) Honors String Orchestra in 2019. Ajin is super excited to share her passion for music!

Rebekah Bodner (18), is in her freshman year at Scripps College (class of 2024), in Claremont, California. Rebekah’s passion for music began during elementary school at the Head-Royce School in Oakland, California, where she began studying the flute and participating in the Lower School Band. Rebekah continued her flute studies at Head Royce throughout middle and high school where she took private lessons and performed in the school bands. Rebekah discovered her love of teaching music while she served as assistant to the performing arts teachers and tutored lower school band members on a broad variety of band instruments. Rebekah plans to continue to study and seize opportunities to perform music while at Scripps; and she hopes to find ways to express and share her lifelong love of music with others while pursuing a career in medicine.

Angela Gao is a freshman at the University of California, Berkeley intending a double major in Business Administration and Cognitive Science, and a minor in Music. Her love of singing and performing started early on, beginning formal classical training at the age of nine. She believes that music can truly heal the soul and can’t wait to share her passion for singing with others through QuaranTunes! In her free time she loves creative writing, painting, and baking (especially banana bread). :)
