OUR mission
QuaranTunes aims to create a community of musicians who share their skills and passions with aspiring musicians around the world. While our lessons are targeted at children ages 4-14, we also offer masterclasses taught by world-renowned professionals that are open to anyone. Our teachers are volunteers and all of our classes are free. However, we encourage a donation to our charitable cause in return for our services. We believe in the power of music to connect and bring joy to people around the world, especially in these hard times.

QuaranTunes and Kelly Clarkson!
Quarantunes has just had the amazing pleasure and privilege to have an audience with Kelly Clarkson - and the whole world. But it almost didn't happen.
Quarantunes' founder, Julia Segal, usually wakes up at 9am. One fateful day, she just happened to wake up a bit earlier, around 7, and check her email. There it was. An email from the Save The Music foundation reaching out to let her know that Kelly Clarkson was considering having her on for an interview on Quarantunes, and that she'd like to have a pre-interview... in less than an hour.

Growth, Sustainability, and a New Board!
Quarantunes has grown exponentially over the past year, and with so many new willing volunteers and excited students, we've noticed a need to create a set-up for the organization that allows it to continue on even when its founding members, mostly seniors in high school, leave for college. Thus came a restructuring of the Quarantunes board, allowing for term periods and a divide-and-conquer type of responsibility that allows for the most efficient and collaborative management of our beloved organization.

I’ve been singing since I was about four years old and it’s a huge part of my life. It’s my biggest passion and the most expressive outlet for my emotions. QuaranTunes has given me the opportunity to share my love for music with others. It is the most wonderful feeling to be able to help someone else discover their own unique sound. Not only is teaching through QuaranTunes making me a better musician, but also a better person. I’m able to understand the needs of my students and challenges they face much more thoroughly. My interactions with my students are easily the best part of my day. I think becoming a vocal teacher for QuaranTunes is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
QuaranTunes was an organization that I never thought I would be part of because I had never taught art online before. But as a teacher I was blown away by how attentive, engaged, and wonderful the kids were, especially considering the classes weren’t in person. It was a real blast to work with all the kids I taught and see them create such beautiful paintings. They gave my summer much more meaning. My brother was a student in my class as well and seeing him grow as an artist really made both of us happy. I don’t think I would have thought about teaching him if it hadn’t been for QuaranTunes. Above all I was so grateful to be given a chance to share my love for surrealism with others. Being a part of the QuaranTunes team really brightened my life and I wouldn’t trade my time as a teacher for anything.
