Julia Segal (18) is a freshman at Stanford University. She is a classically trained pianist and a member of the iSing Silicon Valley Girlchoir. Her passion, however, has always been in writing songs. She is the lead singer and songwriter of a Palo Alto-based indie pop band, Reverie (reverie-band-official.com), with whom she performed at various gigs in the Bay Area. She has spent much of her childhood and teenage years tutoring her younger sister. Besides music, she serves as the Co-President for her school's Jewish Student Union. She is looking forward to being able to share her passion and love for music with children around the world.

Lisa Kopelnik (18) is a freshman at University of Virginia. She is a classically trained pianist who began playing the piano in first grade, and recently completed the most advanced level of the Certificate of Merit with Honors. Outside of music, her passions include politics, debate, and tennis. She is her school’s K-12 All School Co-President and co-leads her school’s Women’s Affinity Group and the Jewish Student Union. She co-leads the middle school debate program at her school and is a captain of her school’s debate team. She is thrilled and honored to help your children develop a love for music, and to maintain human connection during such a distant time.

Erin Kim (17) is a soprano singer with twelve years of experience who loves to sing a variety of genres, ranging from choral to classical and musical theater. She currently sings in the Youth Chorale of the New England Conservatory of Music (NEC) Preparatory School, and she has been singing in her district chorus for four years. Most recently, Erin has performed a solo at the National Youth Chorale Festival. She also enjoys playing the flute and is part of the NEC Prep Baroque Ensemble. Erin loves interacting with children and cherishes the opportunity to share her passion for music through QuaranTunes. As Chief Communications Officer, Erin looks forward to fostering a strong sense of connection and community between students, parents, and teachers. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, running, and visiting art museums.

Adithi Nythruva is a senior at Perry High School in Gilbert Arizona. She first started off as a Voice Teacher her junior year, and taught students for over a year in voice. She has been playing piano since around 5, and has played ukelele since Covid. She is also trained on both western classical and Indian Carnatic music. Some fun facts are that she is the current president of her school’s Jazz Choir and is the current president of her school’s Tri-M music honors society.

Akshara has been classically trained in violin for the last ten years. From playing in ensembles and orchestras, learning the piano, and exploring new styles of the violin (Fiddle and Carnatic), music revolves around her life. She joined Quarantunes as a violin teacher in 2021 and enjoys sharing her musical knowledge and motivating others to explore the vast world of music. As the Chief Teacher Coordinator and Chief Finance Officer, she hopes to further develop Quarantunes’ program and reach more students!

Catherine Wang is a senior at Aragon High School and has been classically trained in the piano for a decade. After stopping music lessons during the pandemic, she found her passion for teaching and meeting new people through QuaranTunes in early 2021 after becoming a volunteer teacher. As someone who also loves interviewing and storytelling, Catherine became a blog author for the organization to feature its diverse community. Now, as COO, she is excited to help carry out a new chapter for QuaranTunes and further expand beyond its online reach to make music education accessible. In her free time, she loves swimming, learning Kpop choreography, and binging YouTube. She's excited to continue running QuaranTunes as an incoming freshman at UCLA studying public health!

Sami is a current junior at California High School and has been singing for 11 years. She is an aspiring actress and has been a part of multiple short films. She was part of Reeder Music Academy's annual recitals and also 'Doo-a-little Singing Academy Youth' Open Mics as a child and middle schooler. She was lead and backup singer in various 'School of Rock' shows. In school, she is an avid member of her high school’s choir. She is a part of chamber choir, choir council, and a board member of choir club. In addition, she is the president of her school’s film club, and is an active member of the Cal High Drama program. Furthermore, she has participated in several singing competitions, some of which are the 'NATS' competition (Honorable mention winner in the NATS Classical and Musical Theatre categories) and the "Broadway World Next on Stage" competition. Outside of school, she is the Event Coordinator and does Social Media for the Tri-Valley Youth Music Group. Along with this, she has been teaching with Quarantunes since the beginning of 2021, and now as a Chief Publicity Officer, she wants to spread the word about this amazing community digitally!

Geethika is a senior in high school from California and she has been playing piano for over 6 years. She has completed several certifications in piano performance through ABRSM and is currently preparing for an ABRSM theory exam. She joined Quarantunes as a piano and music theory teacher and enjoys getting to help students with their musical journeys! She is also trained in Indian Carnatic music and has been singing classically for a decade. Geethika is also deeply interested in the creative arts and enjoys to sketch and paint! As Chief Teacher Coordinator, she not only hopes to expand students' access to music lessons, but also to increase outreach for the creative arts program!

Aila Michiels is a junior at Notre Dame High School. She has played piano for ten years and completed CM level 10. Aila has also been learning to play the electric guitar over the summer. Aila loves performing piano at recitals and even just for family. She started working with QuaranTunes in the 8th grade, teaching piano over Zoom. She loved teaching and interacting with kids. Her love for music has brought her to QuaranTunes, and she is so excited to help grow and strengthen the QuaranTunes community. Outside of music, Aila also enjoys drawing and track & field.

Kavi is currently a first-year student at Harvard University. He has been trained in jazz piano as well as dramatic and technical theatre. His love for playing music and his technical ability are what drew him initially to Quarantunes. He hopes that he can improve the experience for all Quarantunes students and bring as many people to this wonderful program as possible!
